Snails and Puppy Dog Tails
This summer has gone by way faster than I could have ever imagined! Weddings, photoshoots, swim lessons, weekend trips to anywhere and a handful of other to-do-list type stuff have all completely burned through June and have propelled me into July faster than I would like to move! Although I’ve delayed in sharing recent work with my readers I have every intent of satisfying your early morning rituals of blog reading with great new work and beautiful new faces! But for now I thought I’d share a shot of my favorite little “fish.” We’re excited about what God’s doing in our lives right now and how He continues to stretch us creatively and spiritually. Daily I’m finding it more and more silly that I ever worried about being a father. Gavin is one of the greatest joys in my life, my wife and Christ being the other great joys I cherish. I am constantly amazed at how much Gavin learns and how quickly he picks up on EVERYTHING I do! It’s a little scary how closely he watches me even when I’m not watching me. So I’m finding myself drifting toward a more calculated response to the occasional crazy driver, entitled shopper and lazy waiter but I suppose those are all areas where I should be more than willing to show grace. I am definitely learning a lot about grace and patience as Gavin discovers that he can choose to disobey whether he likes the consequence or not. Despite his will to eat nothing but goldfish and teddy grahams, you know the organic ones, I am so thankful to be a father who happens to be a photographer who is blessed with a beautiful family! I hope you’re enjoying your summer regardless of how fast it may or may not be going by and keep me in your bookmarks, there’s more to see very soon!
